Look down at the keyboard on the table in front of you. It looks just about the same as a typewriter, right? There are a few additional keys that we need to point out. You will want to familiarize yourself with these so you are comfortable using the computer.

 

Keyboard Keys Functions
Activates the command when you finish typing
Erases spelling or typing mistakes
F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10 Function keys, to accomplish a special task in program
, , , Arrow keys, to move to a new spot on the screen

Find the key marked . You need to press this key whenever you have finished typing in your information.

Another key you want to know is the key. Usually it is represented with a backwards arrow  . Use this key to back up and erase your typing in case you make a typo or spelling mistake.

The arrow keys are located to the right of the letters section. There are four of them - one for each direction up  , down , right, and left. Use these keys to move to a different spot on the screen. Just above the arrow keys, are the PageUp and PageDown keys. When you want to see a whole screen full of new information, the easiest way is to use the PageUp or PageDown key.
