Looking for Articles in Journal or Magazine IndexesBooks are excellent sources for many topics. However, most research for undergraduate courses doesn't require you to read the entire book. You can use the index in the back of the book to find chapters or pages on your topic. You might also want to look for more current information on the same topic in magazines or journals (also called periodicals). Most libraries have a link to journal indexes on their home page. In addition, you can try the "Online Resources" link in Hawai`i Voyager. This will usually take you to the same web page and will allow you to switch from searching for books to searching for journal articles quickly. At the Hawai`i Voyager home page below, click on "Online Resources" to continue your search in a journal article index.
