The Chars donated to the Kapiolani Library their personal papers, correspondence, family mementos,
art works, certain of their manuscripts. The Char Room also displays special gifts from guests and institutions
from Japan, Korea and other Asian-Pacific regions as memorials to their visits. The followings are some of the
generous items placed in the Char Room.
