MATH 100: Survey of Mathematics
Course Description
MATH 100 is a survey of important elementary concepts in algebra, logical structure, numeration systems, and probability, designed to acquaint non-specialists with examples of mathematical reasoning, and to develop an appreciation and understanding of their historical development and of the relationship of mathematics to the modern world. See detailed objectives.
Note: Although MATH 100 fulfills the UHM BA general education core requirements, it is not acceptable as a prerequisite to QM 252, or MATH 135 or higher level mathematics courses.
See also MATH 115 for probability and statistics resources and PHIL 110 for additional materials on symbolic logic.
