Services and Policies
Consult the librarian at the Reference Desk for help in starting your research or using library resources, such as online catalog and electronic databases.
Apply for library cards, check out or return books at the Circulation Desk. Also borrow reserved materials, videotapes, books from Hawaiian Collection, and back issues of periodicals.
Computing Labs: Include Cybernesia at Iliahi 125-127, Testing Center at Iliahi 128, and Lama 101 in the library for your general computing and testing needs.
Intrasystem Loan: Borrow circulating books from other UH libraries by requesting on Hawaii Voyager. Get notified when requested books arrive at the library. Request articles also. FREE!
Laptops and Wireless Network: Borrow laptops from the Circulation Desk, or bring your own laptop to work with the wireless network in the library.
Open Access Computers: Available throughout the 1st floor for web-based mail and Microsoft Office 2000, which includes word processing, drawing, and presentation software.
Photocopying: Photocopy in black/white ($.10 per page) or color ($1.00 per page), at the photocopiers near the Circulation Desk. Use your ID card as your print card.
Printing: Printing from public computers is available at $.10 per page for black and white $1.00 for color using your FREE KCC ID or Print Card, sold at the Circulation Desk for $1.00.
Secrets of Success Workshops (SOS): A series of workshops offered each semester at the library and other locations on campus to build your college survival skills. Go to the official website http://library.kcc.hawaii.edu/SOS for more information and schedule.
The resources and services provided at the library are designed to support our students, faculty, staff and the general public in their scholarly endeavors. Everyone is welcome to visit our facility and peruse the collections. However, certain resources and services are restricted to those affiliated with the University of Hawaii system.
Common courtesy towards others and care for library materials and other property are expected from all patrons.
Uniform loan periods, fines and fees have been implemented throughout the UH system libraries since the beginning of 2003. Students can use their library cards at KCC and other UH libraries to borrow circulating materials.
The loan period for undergraduate students is 28 days, with 5 renewals. Renewals can be done online through Hawaii Voyager under Your Account. For fines and other details, please consult the library’s website.
